Treat that special someone to a Trader Joe’s Easter basket filled with egg-shaped marshmallows, gummies, freeze-dried candies, and chocolate. Add these vegan-friendly treats to a mini canvas tote for a complete gift.

After a long, cold winter, it’s so fun to celebrate the onset of spring with a pastel-laden Easter basket for some bunny special in your life.
Being an avid Trader Joe’s fan, I put together a colorful, vegan-friendly basket that ticks every box with sweet, sour, tangy, tart, rich, and chewy.
There’s nostalgia-inducing marshmallow eggs, chewy gummies, and a massive chocolate bar that’s sure to please. It’s all packed together in one of those mini canvas totes that’s having a viral moment right now.
This Trader Joe’s Easter basket is a thoughtful gift for friends or family. (Or pick up these items for yourself, and say it’s from the Easter Bunny. I’ll never tell!)

Marshmallow eggs

Three-packs of marshmallow eggs are new this year. These gelatin-free treats are a vegan take on Peeps.
They come in four different colors: yellow, green, purple, and blue.

The pillowy marshmallows taste strongly of vanilla and have a wonderful fluffy texture. They’re finished with naturally dyed sanding sugar for a little crunch around the edges.
These vegan marshmallows are going fast. So if you see them at your store, scoop them up now, as they’re only available for a limited time.
Spring gummies

Soft and chewy spring gummies are a favorite seasonal item in my household.
Made without artificial flavors, colors, or gelatin, they come in a variety of shapes. Look for brightly colored birds, daisies, bumble bees, tulips, and butterflies.
Watermelon freeze dried candies

Watermelon freeze dried candies are perfect for people who love sweet and sour flavors. They taste like a tart version of watermelon Jolly Ranchers with the texture of astronaut ice cream.
Each candy has a tie-dyed look of rainbow colors, which has been achieved with natural food dyes made from spirulina, paprika, vegetable juice, turmeric, and fruit juice.
Pound plus dark chocolate bar

Unfortunately, Trader Joe’s doesn’t have any vegan Easter chocolates (like chocolate bunnies or eggs). However, a pound plus dark chocolate bar is undoubtedly better anyway.
What it lacks in a festive shape, it more than makes up for in flavor. Made in Belgium, it’s exceptionally good.
I usually buy the small 3-pack bars of dark chocolate with almonds, but those days are behind me now. I’ll be replacing it with this pound plus, which comes in both almond and plain varieties.
The almond version has whole nuts in it, as opposed to pieces like you’ll find in the smaller bars. It has break marks for smaller squares, making it easy to enjoy a small section at a time.
Canvas tote bag

These pastel colored mini totes are all the rage online right now. Available for a limited time, you can get them in mint, purple, blue, or pink for just $2.99.
Even though they’re mini, they’re generously sized with plenty of room for all of your Trader Joe’s Easter candy. (During the rest of the year, your recipient can use it for carrying lunch or doing light shopping.)

How to make a Trader Joe’s Easter basket

Once you’ve compiled all of your Easter treats from Trader Joe’s, fill the bag with tissue, Easter grass, or cloth.
Then load it up with your chocolate, gummies, marshmallows, and candy.
I recommend starting with the bulkier/heavier items first (like the dark chocolate bar), and finishing with the marshmallows so they don’t get squished.
